PokerStars on FanDuel Casino has added a weekly Nightly Stars leaderboard for players in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The promotion pays $2,500 in tournament tickets each week and ranks players by the cashes they post in eligible Nightly Stars events, with prizes running as deep as 74th place.
Players earn one leaderboard point for every dollar they cash in a qualifying Nightly Stars tournament. The tournaments run Monday through Saturday at 6:40 p.m. local time, and the first leaderboard cycle runs through Aug. 29 before the standings reset for the Aug. 31-Sept. 5 week.
The prize ladder is heavily weighted toward the top finishers. First place gets five $100 Nightly Stars tickets, second gets three, and third gets two. Fourth through ninth receive one $100 Nightly Stars ticket each, while later slots are split between Sunday Shield tickets, Nightly Stars Satellite tickets and a $10 2nd Chance All In Shootout ticket for places 25 through 74.
Most tickets expire 14 days after they are issued, though Nightly Stars tickets last 21 days. Pokerfuse described the leaderboard as a way to reward regular play, and said the eligible Nightly Stars tournaments are the backbone of the operator’s daily multi-table tournament schedule. It also said those events were revamped with more chips, extra early levels and more time to late-register, while mini versions do not count toward the promotion.
As reported in April, Michigan regulators approved FanDuel to offer multi-state internet poker between Michigan, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with the PokerStars brand used in Michigan and MotorCity Casino as the state operator partner. FanDuel has said the shared network avoids separate state-by-state pools and gives players access to a broader market. The company said the site had dealt more than 28 million poker hands in the nine weeks since launch.
