Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported $346.13 million in combined internet gaming and online sports betting gross receipts in July, up 1.4% from June. iGaming accounted for $302.77 million of the total, while online sports betting contributed $43.36 million.
The July gain followed June’s $341.3 million combined total. The Michigan Gaming Control Board said July combined adjusted gross receipts came to $321.42 million, with $290.65 million from iGaming and $30.77 million from online sports betting.
iGaming remained the larger line in both gross receipts and adjusted receipts. On the adjusted-receipts measure, iGaming rose 0.5% from June and 23.6% from a year earlier, while online sports betting AGR jumped 52.7% month over month and was up 28.8% year over year.
Online sports betting handle totaled $355.2 million in July, down 3.0% from June. That was the market’s wagering volume for the month.
Operators submitted $63.3 million in taxes and payments to the State of Michigan in July. The three Detroit casinos paid $14.09 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees to the city, and tribal operators reported $8.4 million in payments to governing bodies.
The release said 15 commercial and tribal operators were authorized to offer iGaming or online sports betting in Michigan as of July. All 15 offered iGaming, while 13 offered online sports betting, and the board said revenue distribution details and operator-by-operator results were available on its website.
