Michigan’s online casinos generated $300.2 million in gross receipts in September, extending the market’s run above the $300 million threshold to seven months. The result was 0.9% below August’s $303 million but 15.9% higher than September 2025.
The September total came from 15 online casinos, according to Sports Betting Dime, which said it drew on Michigan Gaming Control Board data. The month generated $60.6 million in state tax revenue and a further $21.8 million for city and local jurisdictions.
That extends the streak reported in September, when August iGaming receipts reached just over $303 million for a sixth consecutive month above $300 million. The latest result also marked a second straight month in which annual growth was below 20%, after iGaming had recorded growth of at least 20% in each month from January through July.
Sports Betting Dime attributed part of the recent slowdown in annual growth to a strong comparison period in the second half of 2025. Michigan set successive gross-receipts records in October and December last year, with December reaching $315.8 million, according to the Michigan Gaming Control Board. That December figure was the state’s highest to that point, surpassing October’s previous high of $278.5 million.
Through September, Michigan had averaged $301.1 million a month in online-casino gross receipts during 2026. On that basis, the state was on pace for $3.61 billion in annual iGaming revenue; maintaining 20% year-over-year growth would produce about $3.70 billion, the outlet estimated.
Michigan’s iGaming gross receipts were about $3.1 billion in 2025, up 26.5% from a year earlier, according to data attributed to the MGCB by SportsHandle. Internet gaming and internet sports betting began in the state on Jan. 22, 2021.
