BetMGM marketed a state-specific welcome promotion around the Green Bay Packers-Detroit Lions NFL Week 7 game, offering a $150 reward for a winning $10 first wager in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. New customers in other eligible states instead could receive up to $1,500 in bonus bets when their first bet lost.
CrossingBroad published the offer on Oct. 25, identifying BROAD150 as the code for the four-state, win-required route and BROAD1500 for the first-bet-loss alternative. The promotion was available for any Week 7 NFL game, including Packers-Lions, rather than being restricted to the Detroit matchup.
Customers had to be at least 21, create a new account, enter the applicable code, deposit at least $10 and make a qualifying first wager. Eligibility depended on the bettor’s physical location when placing the wager, not a permanent address. The issued bonus bets were non-withdrawable, typically appeared shortly after settlement and expired within seven days.
Fox News and CBS Sports separately described $150 offers for new users in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, although each identified a different affiliate promo code, FOXNEWS and CBSSPORTS respectively. Fox News said users could wager $10 and receive $150 in bonus bets, while CBS Sports said the $150 path required a winning first bet of at least $10 and described the alternative as BetMGM’s standard up-to-$1,500 losing-first-bet offer.
The Packers entered the Detroit game at 4-2 and the Lions at 3-2. Detroit was listed as a three-point favorite, with the total moving from 52.5 to 53.5 points. A qualifying first wager could be made on markets including the spread or total.
As reported yesterday, BetMGM used the same state-split reward structure in a separate BROAD1500 promotion associated with the Week 8 college-football slate.
