If you play online poker in Michigan, especially on the WSOP MI app, you have plenty to look forward to this year.

Last year, the Great Lakes State became the fourth member of the decade-old Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), which allows the operators to merge their player pools of the states that are part of the agreement.

PokerStars took advantage of this compact in just seven months, becoming the very first operator to combine its Michigan pool with New Jersey, with the new network going live on January 1, 2023. Now all eyes are on WSOP and BetMGM — the other two operators with a presence in both states.

There’s no update on when BetMGM Poker MI or WSOP MI plan to combine their Michigan player pools with their counterparts in New Jersey. Still, WSOP’s schedule for the summer online bracelet series strongly suggests the organizers do not expect Michigan to connect with its existing Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware network by the time the series kicks off.

The officials unveiled the whole WSOP 2023 schedule late last month. While the schedule details do not suggest that WSOP MI would be part of the multi-state online poker liquidity, players shouldn’t lose hope.

There is a slight possibility that things may change by the time the summer series kicks off and WSOP MI becomes part of the existing WSOP NJ/NV player pool. If that happens, WSOP MI players would have 20 chances to win coveted gold jewelry as the NJ/NV series comprises 20 online bracelet events.

However, the chances of that happening are very low as WSOP has made no hint nor any mention of the potential development of a MI merger. So we will assume that WSOP MI’s bracelet series will play out separately.

Key Dates for WSOP MI Players

The online bracelet series on WSOP MI kicks off on June 4 and runs through July 16. The bracelet events are scheduled to run every Sunday at 6:30 PM PST for seven consecutive weeks.

Details of the WSOP MI 2023 Online Bracelet Series

The Michigan online bracelet schedule differs from the New Jersey/Nevada series. Firstly, there are only seven online bracelets for MI instead of 20 scheduled for the two sharing states. The officials organized eight events for Michigan players last year.

Secondly, the buy-ins are on the lower side this year, starting at $300 and going up to $600. The average buy-in throughout the series is $457, with the $500 price point featured three times, $400 two times, one edition of $300, and one more of $600.

Thirdly, the MI series also comprises the popular Progressive Knockout (PKO) format, missing in the NJ/NV series.

Notable absentees in this year’s schedule are the $1000 Online Bracelet Championship event, a-Pot Limit Omaha event, and the famous Lucky 7’s Second Chance.

There is also a possibility that the officials could add a Mystery Bounty (MB) online bracelet event. WSOP recently hosted the MB format as part of the Online Circuit Series for the first time, soon after the format made its debut on the platform.

2023 WSOP Online Bracelet Schedule MI

It will only be the second time the online bracelet events will run on WSOP MI alongside the live series. Here is the schedule for the 2023 series:

WSOP MI Online Bracelet Series 2023 Schedule

Day Date Bracelet Event # Tournament Name Buy-in
Sunday June 4 1 $500 NL Hold’em Bankroll Builder $500
Sunday June 11 2 $400 NL Hold’em PKO 8-Max $400
Sunday June 18 3 $500 NL Hold’em Turbo $500
Sunday June 25 4 $400 NL Hold’em PKO Deepstack $400
Sunday July 2 5 $600 NL Hold’em Deepstack $600
Sunday July 9 6 $300 NL Hold’em $300
Sunday July 16 7 $500 NL Hold’em Summer Saver $500

Qualifiers for the Online Bracelets

As it typically does, WSOP will offer satellites and qualifiers before the online bracelet events start. Qualifiers are expected to run with buy-ins starting at $10 and direct satellites for $30. Players can also expect some freerolls to run alongside the online satellites.

Qualifiers for the WSOP 2023 Main Event

In addition to offering satellites for the online bracelet events, WSOP is also expected to host online satellites for the $10,000 buy-in WSOP 2023 Main Event.

Last year, direct satellites were available for $215 buy-in. Each of these direct satellites guaranteed one seat to the $10k buy-in Main Event. Sub-satellites were also available from buy-ins starting at $10. Expect these satellites to return at the same price point.

The operator will also run freerolls at the end of every month, giving away one seat for free. Expect these freerolls to continue in the run-up to the Main Event.

Key Takeaways

  • MI is not expected to be part of the operator’s existing multi-state shared liquidity by the time the series begins.
  • It might be the last standalone online bracelet series as WSOP MI would likely merge with the operator’s existing shared liquidity network comprising NJ/NV/DE.
  • There is a slight possibility WSOP could add a Mystery Bounty online bracelet to this year’s schedule.
