For the third year in a row, BetMGM Poker will be hosting a prestigious live poker festival at Aria Resort & Casino this June, featuring a $3,500 Championship event and a number of side events along the way.
The third BetMGM Poker Championship will run between June 6 and 11 and the championship event will feature a $3,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, making it one of the best side events to play this summer along the Annual World Series of Poker, which will be happening in Las Vegas at the same time.
Last year’s BetMGM Poker Championship attracted 1,026 entrants for its second edition, and the organizers are hoping to significantly increase that number this time around, as the popularity of the Championship in the live poker community continues to grow.

BetMGM Poker Championship Continues its Growth
The live poker scene has absolutely exploded following the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the BetMGM Poker Championship has been a part of that trend since its inaugural edition.
In 2022, BetMGM introduced the Championship with a $1,000,000 guarantee and managed to attract 343 entrants to the initial event. Just a year later, the number tripled, with 1,026 players playing the $2,000,000 guaranteed BetMGM Poker Championship.
This year, BetMGM will be looking to take a step further, and the $3,000,000 guarantee demonstrates the operator’s belief in the project and the ability to grow this event to new heights.
Aria’s director of operations Ryan Kirk said: “Partnering with BetMGM for the BetMGM Poker Championship solidifies ARIA’s position as a global leader in tournament poker. We anticipate another record-breaking event this summer as we offer a $3 million guarantee and add more tournament tables.”
Last year, about 10% of the overall number of entries came from online qualifiers, as 110 players made it into the Championship through BetMGM Poker online.
This time around, BetMGM will be looking to send even more players out to Vegas and help reach the $3 million guarantee and set a new attendance record for their flagship event.
BetMGM Is Coming to Nevada Soon
While the BetMGM Poker Championship will be happening in Las Vegas, the operator does not yet have a license for Nevada online poker, as WSOP.com continues to hold a monopoly over this side of the business in Nevada.
That’s all about to change, however, as a joint venture between gaming giant Entain and BetMGM seeks to bring BetMGM Poker NV into reality.
Following hearings before the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) that happened earlier this month, BetMGM Poker is looking likely to launch in the state soon, which would help them attract even more players to any future live events they organize in Nevada and otherwise.
The expansion of online poker in America is having a real impact on the growth of live poker as well, as the two continue to demonstrate an ability to not only co-exist but thrive alongside one another.
