Halloween preparations are in full swing as the month of October slowly approaches its end, and PokerStars USA has decided to surprise their Michigan-based players with another amazing tournament in the upcoming Michigan Classic.

The tournament begins at 5 pm on Sunday, October 24 and will be organized as a two-day event that finishes on Monday, October 25.

The Michigan Classic is open to all players and comes with a $300 buy-in and a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool, making it bigger than the Main Event of recent Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP) series.

The latest iteration of the Michigan Classic has a smaller prize pool than the first time it was run in April. That initial run featured a $500,000 prize pool.

Those looking to make their way into the Michigan Classic without paying the full $300 buy-in can do so by participating in various satellite tournaments, which start at just $15, or special $3 Spin & Go’s that award entries into the event.

How to enter the Michigan Classic

While paying the $300 buy-in fee for the Michigan Classic is the simplest way to play the tournament, there are many other opportunities to be part of the show without having to pony up the full amount.

Satellite tournaments for the Michigan Classic kicked off on October 12 with buy-ins starting at $15 and up. The $3 Spin & Go tournaments are also available, with 2,500 direct entries into the Classic available, along with numerous other cash prizes.

Another way to play in the Michigan Classic is to enter the exclusive Depositor’s Freeroll, which will give away dozens of direct entry tickets. Players will need to deposit at least $30 with the operator and use promo code CLASSIC21 when doing so. The top 50 finishers in the Freeroll will receive direct entry into the Michigan Classic.

Building on the success of MICOOP

The Michigan Classic comes just weeks after the end of MICOOP, the state’s biggest poker tournament series to date.

MICOOP saw 68 different poker events take place, with a total of more than 18,000 entries and more than $1.79 million in prize money given away.

It will be interesting to see if one of the big superstars of the MICOOP who won one or two titles will be able to repeat their success at the Classic, with special attention on “Meatballs9000,” who was able to take home four titles at MICOOP.

Grab your bonus money at PokerStars MI

As the Michigan Classic approaches, players at PokerStars MI can make use of a number of lucrative promotions that may just help them make their way into the Event as well.

Every new player who signs up and plays a single hand of cash game poker at the site is eligible for $50 in Free Play, a promotion with amazing value for beginners.

More serious players who are looking to make a deposit with the operator can get up to $600 in deposits matched in full, with the bonus released at a solid rate.

On top of the bonus, PokerStars MI players can also look for extra value in the PokerStars Rewards program, which awards all players based on the rake they pay at the poker tables.
