BetMGM marketed a Michigan welcome offer tied to the Chicago Bears-Seattle Seahawks Week 8 game, giving eligible new customers $150 in bonus bets if an initial $10 wager won. Crossing Broad published the promotion on Nov. 2, ahead of the Monday night matchup and an accompanying NBA schedule.
Customers in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia were directed to use the code BROAD150. They had to create and verify a new account, make a deposit of at least $10 and place a qualifying first wager. The wager could be on Bears-Seahawks, including the moneyline, point spread or total, or another eligible sports market.
The offer was limited to customers aged 21 or older who were physically located in a state where BetMGM operates. Location at the time of betting, rather than a bettor’s home address, determined availability. The Michigan Gaming Control Board lists BetMGM as an authorized online gaming and sports-betting platform provider in the state.
Bonus bets had no cash value and could not be withdrawn directly. They typically expired within seven days of issuance. WTOP independently described the same $150, winning-$10-wager structure for Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
The affiliate page set out different welcome paths elsewhere. Bettors in Arizona, Colorado, Washington, D.C., Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts and Maryland could use BROAD1500 for a first-bet offer worth up to $1,500 in bonus bets. WTOP said that version returned the bonus bets if the first wager lost. New customers in Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia could receive up to $1,000 in bonus bets over their first 10 days.
The Bears entered the game at 5-2 and Seattle at 4-3. The Seahawks were listed as 3.5-point favorites by BetMGM, according to CBS Sports. As covered Nov. 1, BetMGM had also used a $150 Michigan welcome offer around the Chiefs-Broncos game, although that campaign used a different affiliate code.
Crossing Broad said it tested the signup flow and promo codes on Nov. 2. The Bears-Seahawks game was scheduled for an 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff at Lumen Field.
