In the last few days, Michigan has seen not one, not two, but three massive lottery wins. Two of the wins came through lottery draws and one via a scratch card game.

One of the lucky winners has already come forward to claim their prize, while the other two so far remain unknown. The most recent win was a prize of $25,000 a year for life, which came playing the Lucky for Life game. It is the 12th time this year that a lifetime prize has been won on the Michigan Lottery.

The ticket was purchased from the Canton Mini Mart in Cherry Hill Road, Canton – and matched all five white balls in the draw on November 27. As the name suggests, the winner is entitled to $25,000 a year for the rest of their life, or the next 20 years, whichever is greater. However, they can also choose to receive a one-time lump sum of $390,000.

The Michigan Lottery Player Relations Division has asked the winner to contact them at 844-887-6836, option 2, so as to make an appointment to collect the life-changing prize. Winning tickets must be redeemed within one year of the draw taking place.

$2 million yet to be claimed

The second huge prize, a cool $2 million, was won through the Mega Millions draw just one day earlier, on November 26.

The ticket was picked up at Polly’s Country Market, 1255 South Main Street in Chelsea, and perfectly matched the numbers drawn – 07-27-37-42-59 – to land a $1 million prize, which was then doubled, courtesy of the Megaplier feature which, for an extra dollar at the point of purchase, multiplies non-jackpot winnings by up to 5 times.

Again, the winner has been asked to contact MI Lottery Players Division on the above number to make arrangements for claiming their winnings, and they have a year from the date of the draw to do so.

Jackson man wins Millionaire Maker II

The third massive prize was won by a man in Jackson County, playing the Michigan Lottery’s Millionaire Maker II instant scratch card game. The man, who bought his lucky card from the Marathon gas station at 4115 Lansing Avenue, won a whopping $1 million and has chosen to remain anonymous.

The 66-year-old said that “I like to play the Millionaire Maker II game since the lowest prize you can win is $40. I bought one ticket and didn’t win anything on it, so I decided to buy one more. When I scratched the ticket and saw I won $1 million, I was so overwhelmed, but in the best way!”

The man has already been to Lottery HQ to pick up his winnings. He chose to take a one-time windfall payment of $634,000, as opposed to the full $1 million paid as annuities – and says he intends to use the money to “travel, pay bills and invest.”

The Millionaire Maker II game was just launched in September and has already paid out more than $23 million in prizes. However, there is still $77 million yet to be won on the scratch cards, including eight top prizes on $1 million.
