Three weeks after adding a third weekly drawing, Powerball has quickly grown to an estimated $416 million jackpot for Monday evening’s drawing, after there was no winner for the previous three drawings.

According to Powerball’s website, Monday’s drawing has a cash value of about $301.9 million.

There were no winners for the last three Powerball drawings. Those numbers were:

  • Monday, September 6: 11-20-22-33-54, Powerball (PB) 24;
  • Wednesday, September 8: 09-22-41-47-61, PB 21; and
  • Saturday, September 11: 20-31-38-40-49, PB 21.

Additionally, there were no winners using the Double Play option over those three days. Double Play is an add-on feature that gives players a second chance at winning with the same numbers for an additional $1.

Powerball is active in 45 states, including Michigan, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Drawings are performed at 10:59 pm ET on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Monday drawings were added on August 23.

A second winning Lotto 47 ticket is sold online

A woman from Oakland County, MI, won a $1.2 million jackpot last month playing the state lottery’s Lotto 47 game.

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, matched all six number from the Lotto 47 drawing on August 18: 05-06-11-36-40-47.

According to the Michigan Lottery, the woman purchased the winning ticket online from the lottery’s website, MichiganLottery.com. It was the second time in the game’s history that an online player won the Lotto 47 jackpot—the first such win occurred last December, when an online player from Wayne County, MI, won $2.5 million.

“I have played Lotto 47 online for about a year,” the 51-year-old woman told the Michigan Lottery. “I always play the same numbers and I always play them online.

“When I checked the results, I saw someone had won but didn’t even think it could have been me. When I looked a little closer, the numbers seemed familiar. When I verified in my account that I was the winner I was shocked. I’m still shocked.”

The winning player visited the lottery’s headquarters in Lansing to collect her prize. She reportedly chose to receive her prize in a one-time lump sum payment of about $734,000, rather than stretch the winnings out across 30 annuity payments for the full amount.

According to the lottery, the winning player said she plans to share her winnings with her family, take a vacation and save the rest for her retirement.

Every Lotto 47 ticket costs $1. For an additional $1, a player can add the Double Play option, which gives them a second chance to win up to $1.5 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.

A player also has the option of adding the EZMatch option to their ticket for an additional $1, which gives them a chance to win up to $500 instantly. The odds of winning a $500 prize through EZMatch is 1-in-84,000, according to the Michigan Lottery.

Overall odds of winning a prize in Lotto 47 is 1-in-47.
