To celebrate the start of preseason NFL football, PokerStars MI has unveiled a new online poker tournament series, Champions Preseason, which includes $300,000 in guaranteed prize money.
The series begins August 12 and runs through August 23. The series includes $80,000 guaranteed for the Champions Preseason Main Event, which will be held on August 22.
Champions Preseason is being billed as a precursor to the Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP), which is expected to be announced soon.
$6,000 Main Event Depositor Freeroll
PokerStars MI will be giving away 30 Main Event seats for Champions Preseason through its Main Event Depositor Freeroll on August 22, with each of the seats worth $200. Players interested in participating can get their ticket to the event by making a deposit of $30 or more using the Bonus Code “CHAMPIONS.” The deadline for making the deposit is 1:59 pm ET on August 22.
Players that are new to PokerStars will receive a free ticket to the Main Event Depositor Freeroll after creating their account.
According to the terms and conditions of the promotion, the top 30 players from the Main Event Depositor Freeroll tournament will win entry into the Champions Preseason Main Event via a Main Event ticket voucher. If a user wins multiple Champions Preseason Main Event entry tickets, any subsequent ticket can be exchanged for tournament money. Users who do not win entry to the Main Event via the promotion can participate through a $200 buy-in.
Champions Preseason is also being launched simultaneously in New Jersey and Pennsylvania but with different amounts of guaranteed prize money—$400,000 and $150,000, respectively.
Champions Preseason Challenges
PokerStars MI players will receive tickets to the PACOOP when they play in Champions Preseason events. According to the operator, players who:
- Play in one Champions Preseason event will receive one MICOOP Kickoff Freeroll ticket;
- Play in three Champions Preseason events will get a $3 MICOOP Spin & Go ticket; and
- Play in five Champions Preseason events will be given a $10 MICOOP Warm-up ticket.
To enter the promotion, players must opt-in to the Champions Preseason Tournament Challenge from their Challenges window in the PokerStars client and complete at least one of the three tournament challenges.
Win NFL Tickets
According to PokerStars MI, the winner of the Champions Preseason Main Event will not only be eligible to take home prize money, but they will also win two tickets to a professional football game of their choice.
The aggregate value of the NFL tickets cannot exceed $1,000, according to the promotion’s terms and conditions. Players will not be compensated for the difference should the tickets selected be valued at less than $1,000.
$1,000 Champions Preseason Freeroll tournament
PokerStars MI is also offering a shot at winning free bets by competing in a Champions Preseason Freeroll tournament. The event will take place on August 13 with $1,000 in cash for the winner and additional free sports bet prizes of $10 each for the top 100 finishers.
According to the terms and conditions, players must register and participate in eligible Champions Preseason tournaments and finish within the top 100 to receive a single sportsbook free bet equal to $10.
