BetMGM Poker MI’s online poker series returns for another installment in mid-August and will include a variety of events, with prizes of $10,000 to $100,000 on offer.
The operator’s 11-event series begins August 15 with a pair of series—a $50,000 8-max No Limit Hold’em event with a $500 buy-in, and a $35,000 half-price No Limit Hold’em event with a $100 buy-in.
The series is all No Limit Hold’em events, save for two events. BetMGM Poker MI will host a $10,000 8-max Pot Limit Omaha event on August 19, followed by a $25,000 8-max progressive knockout bounty event on August 20, which includes a $100 bounty.
The series also includes turbo and “mini” variations of No Limit Hold’em on August 19 and 22, respectively. The buy-in for the mini event is $18.
The final event will be a $100,000 8-max No Limit Hold’em event on August 22 with a $1,000 buy-in.
BetMGM, a partnership between Entain and MGM Resorts International, launched poker in the Wolverine State in March. The operator has been running a monthly online poker series every month since April; August will be the fifth installment of the series.

Pennsylvania and New Jersey players will be able to play in similar series over the same days as the Michigan series, but will only have 10 events in different formats and with different prizes. The 11-event series in New jersey runs from August 5 to August 15.
WSOP MI is Coming
Only two operators—BetMGM Poker MI and PokerStars MI—are licensed to provide online poker in the Wolverine State, but that will soon change. WSOP MI is close to launching in the state.
When WSOP MI launches, the operator is likely to celebrate the start with a series of promotions in the Wolverine State and the other states where WSOP operates—Delaware, Nevada and Pennsylvania. WSOP held several promotions when it launched in Pennsylvania last month.
A WSOP MI launch will also represent the second jurisdiction to deploy 888’s new state-of-the-art Poker 8 software. WSOP PA was the first to use the new software when it launched in July.
The new Poker 8 software is described as a significant upgrade from the classic 888 desktop and mobile apps. It also supports concurrent play at up to four tables, Omaha games and progressive knockout tournaments.
WSOP and WSOP.com are owned by Caesars, which has a partnership with 888.
PokerStars MI launched in the state in late January. Its entry was coordinated with the simultaneous launch of the Stars Casino and the FOX Sports sportsbook in the state. Meanwhile, BetMGM launched in Michigan in March.
