For some time now, DraftKings has been competing with FanDuel and BetMGM in the Michigan igaming market, an indication of just how competitive online gaming is in Michigan.
Last month, the operator took steps to ensure it continues fighting to be among the market leaders with the addition of more than 80 new titles to its online casino games portfolio.
The new additions included dozens of new slot games, as well as a handful of new table game options, all of which will add exciting new options for Michigan online casino players.
New Games from Industry Leading Developers
Leading the way in the DraftKings Casino Michigan expansion were Playtech and Play’n GO, two of the biggest casino games developers in the world.
Both developers added 11 games to DraftKings MI last month, further expanding their substantial presence with one of the biggest gaming brands in the state.
Playtech’s substantial portfolio was improved with the addition of slot games like Buffalo Blitz Live, Blue Wizard, Wild LinX, and Gold Hit: Dragon Bonanza, as well as the table game Mega Fire Blaze: Roulette.
On the other hand, Play’n GO also expanded its presence with DraftKings Michigan with games like Fire Joker, Legion Gold, Rich Wilde, Tome of Madness, and Perfect Gems, all games with significant success in other regulated markets.
With 11 new titles from each of these two industry leaders now available, DraftKings Casino MI is likely to become even more appealing to thousands of players looking to try their luck at one of the state’s leading igaming sites.
Other Providers Add to the Mix
It was not just Playtech and Play’n GO that improved their offering of online casino games at DraftKings, but also companies like Evolution, IGT, EveryMatrix, and Pariplay.
The addition of Evolution games like Ancient Disco, Pinatas & Ponies, and Twin Happiness was of particular interest, as the developer generally focuses on live casino games and added some of its first slot games to the sprawling Michigan market.
Other companies also expanded their libraries at DraftKings MI with a few new titles, as the operator continues to build one of the biggest igaming portfolios in the entire country.
Can DraftKings Catch Up to Competitors?
For months now, DraftKings has been chasing after FanDuel and BetMGM as the state’s third igaming operator in terms of revenue, but so far it has been unable to catch up with its leading competitors.
In May, DraftKings reported “just” $36.9 million in igaming revenue, compared to the $51.6 million reported by BetMGM and $51.5 million reported by FanDuel, the two top dogs.
What’s even more notable for DraftKings is the fact their revenue reports have been going in the wrong direction since March, indicating a change must be made if the operator is to once again challenge for the top spot.
The new additions to the games portfolio should be a valuable step in the right direction, although DraftKings may have to resort to more drastic measures if it is to catch up with its more robust competitors.
