A new live studio owned and operated by a subsidiary of global gaming powerhouse Light & Wonder (L&W) began providing live dealer online casino games to customers in Michigan on Monday.
L&W, formerly Scientific Games, said its Authentic Gaming subsidiary made its North American debut after receiving regulatory approval from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) on October 5.
The MGCB said Authentic Gaming will livestream real-time casino table games with live dealers from a studio in Farmington Hills, a suburb of Detroit.
It’s the state’s third live dealer studio — Evolution opened one in July 2021 and Playtech followed suit with its own facility in December of that year. Both studios are located in the Detroit suburb of Southfield.

Studio to Partner With BetRivers, Golden Nugget
According to the MGCB, Authentic Gaming will initially provide content for two online casinos in Michigan — BetRivers Casino MI and Golden Nugget Casino MI.
“Authentic Gaming will offer a wide range of live dealer gaming options to suit different preferences — including blackjack, baccarat, and roulette — and was approved after fulfilling Michigan internet gaming regulatory requirements, including an onsite review by MGCB staff,” the regulator said.
In a separate statement on Monday, L&W said Authentic Gaming would offer “seven new live dealer experiences” for BetRivers customers but did not mention Golden Nugget.
L&W said five games have been made available for BetRivers customers:
- Premium Blackjack
- Stadium Blackjack
- Premium Roulette
- Premium Baccarat
- All Michigan Auto Roulette
The company said there were “further releases in the pipeline.” L&W added that its premium game features available in Michigan include Make It Your Own, Side Bet Library, ShuffleStar, and Pay Me Now.

Richard Schwartz, CEO of Rush Street Interactive (RSI), also praised the new partnership. BetRivers is RSI’s flagship brand for online casino and sports betting.

BetRivers operates in Michigan under the land-based casino license of Little River Casino Resort, a tribal casino owned and operated by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. Meanwhile, Golden Nugget is partnered with another tribal facility, Ojibwa Casino, which is owned and operated by the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community.
Scientific Games rebranded as L&W in March 2022. It acquired Authentic Gaming in November 2021.
